Govinda turns Father not in Real life but in Reel Life for the Movie Jagga Jasoos

Govinda is turning a father—this time on screen. Anurag Basu has asked the 50-year old actor to play the role of Ranbir Kapoor's dad in his upcoming film Jagga Jasoos.

A friend of Govinda told TOI, "The two had a long meeting last week. Anurag explained the character to Chi Chi (as Govinda is fondly called) in detail. Chi Chi loved the subject and has consented to do the project in principle."

A few months back, Ranbir and Anurag joined hands to start a production house Picture Shuru Productions. Jagga Jasoos, which is their maiden venture, will be co-produced by Disney. Elaborating further, the source said: "Chi Chi is not playing a serious character. The role will tap his excellent comic timing."

A few days back, Govinda was approached to play an antagonist in Shaad Ali's next starring Ranveer Singh and Parineeti Chopra. Few months ago, he underwent hair-weaving for Pehlaj Nihlani’s Avtar. Seems, he is starting his second innings on a rather interesting note.
